Pod Casts

So for our new class assignment we are suppose to create a podcast on a review of a recent movie, artist song or favorite artist. Creating a podcast is fun but time consuming, there is so much editing through the progress. We are using GarageBand for this project, it is very easy to use and it allows you to do make a great podcast.

I choose one of my favorite artist Lily Allen because she has a beautiful english voice and her lyrics are bluntly amazing. In my opinion I believe she offers the audience what they want to hear and many artist are afraid to say. Lily also offers comedy and different music such as country, jazz, electronic.

Web Templet Update

So today in class we were suppose to finish our Web templets but most of the class including myself were behind. This was harder than I expected. I decided to do mine templet on tea's and the benefits of it.
My job was to connect it to something related to Cerritos Community College. I decided to use the Cafe located by the SS Building because they offer a wide variety of them.

Fortunately professor Cameron gave us extra time to finish our projects, good luck to everyone !

Creating an Interactive Hyper Text Markup Language

A new assignment is assigned and I have no clue how to start. We need to create an interactive page on a topic that can have relative information linking it.

At this moment I am still debating on what I want to do it on. It is almost like a map taking you step by step with a click of a mouse.

An HTML is  a standardized system for tagging text files to achieve font, color, graphic, and hyperlink effects on World Wide Web pages.

All web pages are created with a type of HTML format and very difficult to understand if you have no idea on the way the codes are set up.

For example to have a title on a page this code below needs to go before and after your title.

                                                                       <title> </title>

Visual Resume

Marketing yourself online can be a great way to land a job. When summiting a resume that leaves a professional and clear lasting impression of your past history, your current goals and expectations.

With high unemployment percents a resume can help you and can or can hurt you.

Employers go over piles and piles of applications and what does a good application have that the others don't?

Well it all comes down to the type of person they are looking for. Why not make it easy for the employer to go over your resume and give him a fast and clear understanding of who you are, your interest, skills, education, and qualifications.

This is a great advantage to save the employer time and it also helps you the applicant track and review your past history.

I created my resume using LinkedIn and VizualizeMe to make. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Looking at it now makes me feel like I have done so much.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches

Review of Blogs

Today in class we were assigned to get into groups of four and five and go over our blogs and posts. What I noticed was that some of my classmates were not blogging often.

I liked hearing what they had to say for their choices of backgrounds and set ups.

Over all I believe I have completed all my blogs and I am pretty caught up with my work. I would like to change my background now that I have looked at other blogs.

The main reason I would like to do this is because I have too many colors and I don't want any attention being taken away from my actual posts.

Here are the links to the Blogs I took a look at today.

Creating Infographs

Last week in class we learned how to make charts using Microsoft Excel. (Click here for a tutorial)

This was a bit confusing but I got the basic directions on how to do it.

For my next assignment I gathered information on Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches and I'm currently working on it to make a Inforgraph.

My task will be to use a Picktochart and show an informative timeline of the history of delicious P&J sandwiches and their popularity in the United States. With the tools I learned on Microsoft Excel I will make a chart and attach it to my Piktochart

For a quick look at what Infographs look like click here on this creative one "How to Find Missing Children Using Social Media."

Voodooz Valentine Movie

My animated cartoon didn't come out as planned because it had some awkward long pauses. The process of the assignment over all was fun, I went for my Valentines idea. It had humor and it was catchy. Check out my animated cartoon I designed using XtraNormal on YouTube

XtraNormal

XtraNormal is a very creative tool that allows you to create a animated cartoon with your personal script.

The assignment we are currently working on in class is allowing us to be more than journalist. We are using tools that can make our blogs stand out.

This tool is not free, we were able to get access to it from out professor Rich Cameron.

XtraNormal has several character and scenes to choose from. It also has tools to make your characters move, make face expressions and speak by typing in words. I am very excited to see how my animated script will turn out to be.

My script is about two male friends having a conversation about Valentines Day. I used the Vodoo characters for my cartoon.

As soon as I finish my animated cartoon I will share it here in my blog and twitter account, hope you guys like it.

Animated Cartoon 🎨

Today in class, we received our new assignment which appears to be easy and fun.
Our creativity will be expressed through making a conversation about anything we have a passion or strong interest in. I have many ideas at this moment that I am not sure which one to pick.

I enjoy cooking and nutrition. Most likely I will do a dialogue on either topic.

We will have a 2 person dialogue using XtraNormal
I took the time to look at some done and this one

made me laugh 😄 by far my favorite one that I found.

Bringing stories together from all over using STORIFY

Today in class we learned to used Storify, this is a very unique site to link up stories from all over.

Are group assignment was to find different stories and views on the role of women on combat.

historic change and was recommended by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, overturns a 1994 rule prohibiting women from being assigned to smaller ground combat units.

It is very interesting what people have to say, Marine Captain Katie Petronio says "women shouldn't be in infantry."

"I am not blind to the fact that females play a key role in countering the gender and cultural barriers we are facing at war, and we do have a place in combat operations" Petronio said.

While working on this assignment we can gather videos from YouTube, pictures from Instagram and other popular sites.

Women on the frontline is my link for my Storify account, check it out and let me know what you think.
